GORKI, Moscow Region, Aug 9 (PRIME) -- The government will continue its car export program, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev told tycoon Oleg Deripaska, chairman of the supervisory board of multi-industry holding Basic Element, which comprises GAZ car maker, on Wednesday.

“We will definitely continue the program to support the exports (of cars)…Our market is large, but it is not endless. There are many countries that have strong connections to our producers, including GAZ Group and your big company Russian Machines, to which we could and should supply cars,” Medvedev told Deripaska.

Deripaska said that the GAZ group managed to stabilize its condition after the 2008 crisis and has vattracted more than 120 billion rubles of investment since then. Currently, the company exports its products to more than 46 countries of the world, he said.

The car exports strategy until 2025 ensures provision of 135.9 billion rubles to the industry, including 85.5 billion rubles to subsidize transportation costs and 18.5 billion rubles for homologation and certification of products at external markets.
